Seacoast College Prep & Tutoring Sets Spring Schedule
By Ann Jollimore, Senior Writer
Competition
to America’s top-tier higher education institutions
is at an all-time high. Every year, thousands of students with
high grade point averages and test scores are not accepted into
the colleges and universities of their choice. Responding to this
growing trend, a Seacoast company has opened its doors for a third
season to give area high-school students a leg up in the college
admissions process.
The Seacoast College Prep & Tutoring Center has announced its
spring offerings in educational enrichment courses, SAT prep, and
supplemental coaching and
tutoring services. Courses for the spring include test preparation for the
May 1 and June 5 SAT tests.
Classes will meet for four weeks and will be offered
at three times, Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:15-8:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 7:15-8:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:30-10 a.m. Preparation for the May
1 test will begin on April 3. Preparation for the June 5 test will begin May
8. Courses will be divided into eight one-hour and 15-minute sessions that
prepare students for every aspect of the SAT test. Tuition for the SAT prep
course is $395 and includes all SAT preparation materials.
In addition to its SAT classes, the Center will be offering three enrichment
courses for the spring:
- “Creative Writing, The Dubliners: Yeats, Joyce,
and Beckett,” Saturdays,
April 3 to May 22, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- “de Tocqueville’s Democracy in America,” Saturdays,
April 3 to May 22, 1-3 p.m.
- "The
American Romantics: Hawthorne, Emerson, and Thoreau”:
Saturdays, May 1 to June 5, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Tuition
for enrichment courses is $295 and includes all texts for
required readings. If you are interested in registering
for any of their classes
or services, you can contact the Center at (603) 868-6393
or via e-mail at registration@top-tier.info.
